Airport Adventure - Part 2 - Stateside

Who said I can't be a tourist in my own country? And why not the airport?

Enter the iconic TWA hotel which a retro remake of the TWA terminal. So groovy and I never had so much fun exploring the hotel!

It was a much-needed trip back to the states. I won't mention that it snowed 3 times in one week in Maryland while I thought I was on "vacation" away from the sunny tropical island fruit I had grown accustomed to! (Sigh... In all things give thanks!). Meanwhile, my Singaporean friends were all jealous that I got to have so much snow...there is so much they don't yet understand :) ... I still love them anyway. I didn't mention the shoveling out the car to them in the mornings :)

It was so funny I had a brief conversation with my co-worker in Singapore. He asked me, "when is the next time you're going back to the States?" I said, "Probably next summer." He said, "What's summer?" I gave him a blank stare. He said, "No really, we don't have seasons here, what is summer?"

It dawned on me how fortunate I had been to travel all over the world from Finland to Norway and the arctic circle to China, India, France, Peru, etc. How quickly we forget how fortunate we are. Here I thought the Singaporeans were living life with year-round 80F degree weather. It is also really important to see a variety of gems God has placed on this earth. It really changes your perspective. It reminded me to count my blessings more often!

[As a side note - I will post some "Flashback" photos from different places I have been and label them "Flashback" in the title. Just so you don't get confused as to where I really am in the world. No worries, sometimes I still have to remind myself where I am :) ]
