Day 10 - What do you do when you’re running on empty?
King David knew this well. He was tired of running from Saul. I bet he was thinking - when will this end? Aren’t I the next king?
So what did he do? We first we acted like a crazy person amongst the Philistines. Ummm….I’m pretty sure God didn’t tell him to do that. And then his wives and children were kidnapped. Yes, wive’s plural (yea, I don’t think God told him to have more that one wife either, but back to the story).
1 Samuel 30:6. The verse reads, "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David strengthened himself in the LORD his God".
Things had actually became worse for David. But he strengthen himself with trust in the Lord. David prayed and asked for God’s consel for strategy to get his family back.
In distress - it can be hard to trust God let alone man. You’re stressed because you probably thought people let you down in the first place. You have to allow yourself to deeply trust God in these times and remain faithful to what God said he would do.
