Day 12 - Commanded to Sing
Sometimes the last thing we feel like doing is singing. However, we are commanded to sing. It’s part of our warfare before our breakthrough. God loves doing new things, we need to sing new songs. God likes to do new things. Even before breakthrough or winning the war, we sing praises.
Psalm 98:1
“Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.”
Isaiah 43:19-20
“Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.”
2 Chronicles 20:21-22
21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his[c] holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”
22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
