Day 9 - Faith in God and Faith in Ourselves

In John 1: 12-13:

“But whoever did want him,

    who believed he was who he claimed

    and would do what he said,

He made to be their true selves,

    their child-of-God selves.”

I recently realized, I believe in God’s faithful, but I didn’t always believe in myself.  In order for God to make us our true selves, we have to believe in Him and also obey Him.  Sometimes, He may ask us to do things outside of our comfort zone.  We may need a measure of belief in ourselves in order to execute.  If you don’t believe you have what it takes to obey God, lean on God’s belief in you. Corinthians 10:13 states: 

“13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.”
