Day 20 - Bold and Courageous
I have to be honest with you - I think the most bold and courageous thing I did was not "walking on water" or "just taking a leap of faith". - Honestly it was admitting the truth to myself.
For most of my life - I had unknowingly been living someone else's script - some else's plan for what I should do. Then it translated to "only doing what my boss says" or "following my mentor." When I looked down the road of the people I had been following I realized I didn't want their lifestyle. Why was I following them?
Some of the most courageous things I did were:
1. Admitting I was wrong
2. Admitting my intensions were wrong
3. Admitting that "this person" means well, but does not know me or have my best interest in mind
4. Admitting that there were some professions I really didn't like doing
5. Asking myself - "Is Jesus really in this?"
6. Truly being honest with myself
7. Admitting that I had been walking through life previously with incorrect precepts
In the Gospel according to John - Chapter 1 - we have 3 conditions:
1. Whoever did want Him (Jesus)
2. Whoever believed He was who he claimed to be and
3. Would do what He said
He would make them to be their true selves, their Child-of-God selves.
It is a very bold and courageous move to step away from the voices playing in your head that are not God and turn to the one who is. Luke 12 gives us some very tough to swallow truths, but as we know Jesus never backs down from the truth.
Do you want truth or false peace?
Heavenlu Father, thank you for sending your Son who came to show us your truths and your ways. Amen.
John 1:9-13
9-13 The Life-Light was the real thing:
Every person entering Life
he brings into Light.
He was in the world,
the world was there through him,
and yet the world didn’t even notice.
He came to his own people,
but they didn’t want him.
But whoever did want him,
who believed he was who he claimed
and would do what he said,
He made to be their true selves,
their child-of-God selves.
These are the God-begotten,
not blood-begotten,
not flesh-begotten,
not sex-begotten.
