Day 6 - Who are you?

It only took me my whole life (~ 30+ years) to realize that we are who God says we are. That's our true selves. How many times and much time people have wasted going the path of what other people have said they are outside the will of God. I love how God took the most down and out to do his best miracles. The people that seemingly strayed away. Jesus called a tax collector???? What???? Tax collectors were known for charging unfair percentages of income. I wonder if we had the same tax collectors today if most people would even be able to have a chance at stable shelter and food for their families. The percentages were fluctuating and outrageous causing so much stress and instability. Imagine how many people this tax collector caused to go homeless, ruining lives, taking food from baby's mouths.

But yet Jesus called Matthew. He saw the heart of Matthew, not his occupation or title. Jesus knew with Matthew's gifts, mixed with a healed heart and obedience to follow Him he would go on to write the first book of the New Testament that we can read 2,000+ years later! God called a murderer - Moses as well. God's calling and our beleif in His Son and our willingness to obey makes us who we are. Not what other people falsely acuse us of being.

Go ahead and live your Child of God self!

John 1:12:

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Psalm 139:14: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
